First day at work: a big day for a little puppy! Meet the youngest member of the team: Lapai ( Irish for paws)! A cross between an Australian cattle dog and a border collie.
The cattle decided to leave the island and come out to the banks at Streedagh. A perfect opportunity to introduce Lapai to our livestock!
Bainne, our 14-year-old soon to be retired, working dog was on fire showing the newbie how it’s done.
Lapai is still too young for working, but seems interested and enjoyed the outing.
….so its not all horses here, the cattle are also part of our farm. It’s a herd of dry stock cows that live on the island with our stock bull. The cows rear a calf most years. the calves eventually get weaned and sold on. Until that day comes, they lead happy lives and enjoy great freedom.
