Horse Riding For Groups
Horse riding for groups at Island View Riding Stables is offered as a safe, enjoyable equestrian activity all year round.
With so many horses and ponies to choose from, Island View Riding Stables can accommodate horse riding groups of all ages and abilities (e.g. family gatherings, hen parties, stag parties, students, riding clubs, corporate events, team building and staff outings, active age groups, Christmas parties, special needs groups, birthday parties of all ages).
Groups of riders with different levels of experience will be accompanied by at least two guides. This means the group can split up for some of the ride, allowing the experienced riders to go for a canter with one guide whilst the second guide stays with the less experienced party. We make sure everybody enjoys their trek and feels comfortable with the pace of the ride. If necessary, small children or beginner riders can be taken on a lead rein.
All riding activities take place outdoors. All rides are guided.
We supply riding hats, hat liners and boots. Riders should wear sensible outdoor clothing and comfortable trousers.
Groups can take part in all our rides, from a gentle 30 minute stroll for small kids, to a 5 or 6 hour ride with picnic or pub lunch.
For mixed ability groups or beginners, the 1 hour beach ride is ideal. The 2 hour beach and bog-land ride is also “do-able” for beginners.
Experienced riders will enjoy our 4 hour treks, such as the Mullaghmore ride or our unique island ride, where you can stop for an outdoor picnic or a snack in the pub.
Group sizes
In the summer, we can accommodate groups of up to 15 riders. In the winter, a maximum number of 10 riders per group applies.
For larger groups we can offer to split the group into two rides, riding one after the other.
Please contact us with details about your group and we can put together a tailor-made equestrian package.
There are many scenic places and attractions in the vicinity that groups can visit i.e. Yeats’ Grave at Drumcliffe, Lissadell House, the Horse Shoe Drive in the Gleniff Valley, the headland drive and Wild Atlantic Way view point in Mullaghmore, Creevykeel Court Cairn in Cliffoney or Streedagh Beach – a beautiful sandy beach where three Ships of the Spanish Armada were shipwrecked in 1588.

Group Booking
We are flexible and will strive to make organizing the group activity as easy as possible for you – just email us or give us a call at 071-9166156. Payment upfront is required.
Group Cancellation
We appreciate early cancellation so that we can offer your slot to other customers. Please make sure you contact us in good time by phone to cancel your ride. If you cancel 48 hours before your appointment, we will issue a refund minus an admin fee. Most of the horses live outside all year and are well used to all kinds of weather. Generally, we go out in all weather. The weather can change quite quickly along the coast so often it’s just a case of waiting until a shower blows over or changing the route slightly. It is only in exceptional circumstances that we cannot operate the rides. If we deem it unsafe to ride, we will contact you and issue a refund.
Parking: parking for tour buses on site.
